“One of my prayer requests is to count my blessings throughout my day.”
I wanted to make it easier to remember to do that throughout the day. Given that our bible study group and a lot of our friends love using BeReal, and the idea of randomly placed life updates to share, I made manna circle: a daily reminder to think about how God has blessed you, and a place to share it with friends.
A blessing might be an answered prayer, or it might be a friend checking in during a difficult week. When we share those things, someone else gets to thank God with us. That’s what I hope this app helps us do more often.
Let’s share our daily bread.
1 John 1:7 talks about walking in the light and having fellowship with one another. Our faith with God is meant to be shared. I wanted a way for us to do that during the week, through the things happening in our lives.
The name manna is a reminder of daily provision. Sharing our daily bread with each other can be as simple as telling a friend what we’re thankful for today, then taking time to hear about their day.
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Hebrews 10:24–25How it fits into your day.
You start or join a private circle with people you know. Once a day, at an unexpected time, everyone in that circle gets a reminder to share a blessing. You can type it, record your voice, or send a short video.
Write it the way you’d tell a friend. A few words about something you’re thankful for are enough.
After you share, you can see what the rest of your circle posted that day and respond to them. Earlier blessings stay in the timeline, so you can look back at what you’ve shared together.
For the difficult days, too.
You can be thankful for a friend’s support and still be having a hard day. Share what you want your circle to know, even when there are things you’re still praying about.
I hope reading each other’s blessings gives us more reasons to thank God and helps us keep up with the people we care about.
